Oysters and Peptides Derived from Hydrolysates Modulate Oxidative Stress - Marvin Edeas

Oyster hydrolyzate has applications in the fields of cosmetology, dietetics and medicine. Marvin Edeas’ developments have found a real application. Thanks to these patents, a start-up was founded to market the new peptide.

Marvin Edeas often works with CNRS, INSERM and Paris Descartes University in the Development, Reproduction, Cancer Department. Since 2016, he has affiliated with the Cochin Institute, Paris Descartes University, as a visiting professor. Marvin Edeas holds clinical studies in nephrology patients and studies how microbiota metabolites effect the mitochondrial activity of these patients. His research and study mainly looks at the effects of Inflammation and Oxidative Stress in chronic diseases.

Back in the year 1997, Marvin Edeas defined the factors that lead to blastogenic plasma in HIV Type 1 cases. Marvin Edeas was involved in the first clinical study on the impact of antiretroviral therapy on lactic acidosis and hyperlactatemia. The latency mechanisms of HIV in patients who are HIV positive, on top of the activation factors, is an area which he spent six years studying at the Antoine Béclère Hospital.
